My name is Maggie Ngugi. My journey from Nairobi to Silicon Valley with visits back to rural Kenya, inspired me to found Africa Tech for Tomorrow Foundation (ATFT) - a 501c3 (in registration).
My commitment is to empower children in rural Africa with vital tech skills to prepare them for the AI era by establishing computer labs in areas with little to no access to computers. I need your help to bring this vision to life!
My 'Trek for Tech' Kilimanjaro climb on July 14th to 21st 2025 will launch ATFT on the highest peak of Africa and raise money for the first lab in rural Kenya. I can’t do this without you!
My journey to this mission began in Nairobi, Kenya, where I experienced firsthand the transformative power of technology. This passion led me to pursue an education in the USA, followed by a fulfilling career in Silicon Valley.
However, upon returning to rural Kenya, I was deeply moved by the stark digital divide – seeing children who lacked basic access to computers, hindering their ability to participate in our increasingly AI-driven world.
This ignited my commitment to ensure no child is left behind, empowering them with the tools and skills to thrive in the digital age, ensuring they are not left behind and can be economically empowered. This realization fueled my commitment to bridge this gap, leading to the creation of Africa Tech for Tomorrow Foundation
We are still in our conception stages and are building the team so we are calling for interest
If you are passionate about Africa, Technology, Children, Philanthropy, Adventures or all of the above, then this opportunity is for you or to share with a friend who would be interested!
I grew up in Lusaka, Zambia, but call many places home, San Francisco being the most recent addition. Physical challenge and computers are dual pursuits of mine, as I learned how to code the same summer I ran my first marathon.
When I wrote my first piece of software, a simple game that no one ever played, I felt like I’d been gifted a magic wand. I joined ATFT because I want to share that feeling—of going from conception to creation, with the keyboard as the mediator—to people back in Zambia, and across Africa.
My next endurance challenge is the San Francisco Ultramarathon on July 26th: two back-to-back marathons through the night.
We need all the help we can get to keep building the vision. If this is you, please reach out to us directly. For more details about these and other roles
